Five years after the comet's impact, the Garrity family is still living in a bunker in Greenland. But they don't find peace here: air and water are contaminated and fragments in orbit can crash to Earth at any time. When an earthquake destroys the bunker, they have to set off again - through a devastated Europe to the last refuge: the site of the impact in southern France.
