In a hospital, the autopsy of an executed mass murderer is being performed. What the doctors don't know is that the killer isn't dead. To survive, he must rip the beating hearts from the bodies of the living. The murderer sets out to satisfy his hunger for human hearts. Sheriff Berger (Robert Englund), assigned to investigate the murders, doesn't believe in the actions of an undead killer. He tries to get to the bottom of things.
