Shortly before he has an appointment with the guillotine, the Irish grave robber Arthur confides in the priest Francis in his prison cell before he follows his colleague Willie, who has already been beheaded, to his death. He tells the astonished priest about his career as a grave robber in the 19th century and unpacks numerous episodes in which the undead don't want to stay in the coffin, his employer Quint wages a fierce competition, and finally his partner turns out to be a ghoul.
