A group of explorers and documentary filmmakers travel to the mysterious Skull Island to investigate the legend of a giant gorilla named Kong. In the jungle, protected from civilization, they encounter prehistoric animals and eventually their archenemy, Kong, who falls instantly in love with the beautiful actress Ann Darrow and kidnaps her. Kong is eventually subdued, tranquilized, and returned to New York, where he is to be put on display as an attraction.
