The artist Richard lives in Tangier because he can no longer afford his apartment in Great Britain. He helps the young Moroccan Malik to get to Europe. There, of all people, the conservative politician Mathilda hides him. Her assistant Amina is supposed to mediate - but Malik pursues his own plans and unintentionally triggers a chain of events.
