Because he is no longer considered a tolerated child but an illegal at his 16th birthday and is therefore threatened with deportation, the young Kurd Baran has gone into hiding in the Hamburg neighborhood. Since then, he has been drifting through St. Pauli, sleeping with friends and working as an errand boy at a kebab shop. During one of his errands, Baran meets Chernor, who is also illegal.
