Christmas 1914 on the Western Front. The British, German and French troops have been facing each other in a deadly battle for months. After the initial enthusiasm for war, the men are tired and have only one wish on both sides: "That there may finally be an end to the cruel killing!" And so a small miracle occurs: the ordinary soldiers on both sides have communicated by paper and sign and agreed on an unofficial ceasefire: "We not shoot, you not shoot!" was the slogan. And it works. When the German soldier and tenor Sprink sings "Silent Night", the French and English respond with applause.
