Niko is in his late twenties and said goodbye to his studies some time ago. Since then, he has been living for the day, drifting sleeplessly through the streets of his city and wondering about the people around him. Niko is a flâneur and listener to whom people tell their stories. With quiet curiosity he observes them as they cope with daily life. Until this turbulent day: his girlfriend draws a line, his father turns off the money tap and a psychologist attests to his 'emotional imbalance'. A strange beauty named Julika confronts him with the wounds of their shared past, his new neighbor pours out his heart to him over schnapps and meatballs and there seems to be no more 'normal' coffee in the whole city. Should Niko really leave his 'comfort zone' after this day and change his life? Will he get Julika in the end? And even the long-awaited cup of coffee?
