Hollywood 1969: The great age of the westerns is over. Rick Dalton is on the decline with his acting career, because the fame of his hit series "Bounty Law" is fading more and more and the offers of film producer Marvin Schwarz do not seem attractive enough to him. To make matters worse, the new star director Roman Polanski and his wife, actress Sharon Tate, move into the house next door. Together with his stunt double and best friend Cli Booth, Dalton tries to survive in the dream factory and achieve new fame as a movie star, while Hollywood is on the verge of being shaken by the Manson murders. The ninth film by cult director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino features a large star ensemble and numerous narrative strands and pays homage to the last moments of Hollywood's golden age.
