Julius Schmitke is a 57-year-old German wind turbine engineer. He feels sickly, his body ages, creaks, crunches and groans. One day he is sent somewhere in the Czech Ore Mountains to repair one of his old patents, a mysterious C 174, which also does not want to stop creaking and squeaking. But that's not the only secret that awaits him there. His colleague Thomas disappears, strange things happen, and Schmitke begins to feel the spirit of the forest around him. The longer Julius roams through the rough and foggy forests, the more he is surprised that the entire expedition into the mysterious, unknown forest seems to be a return to old, familiar places within himself...
