Vietnam veteran Rick Simon lives in a houseboat, has a penchant for pickup trucks and drives a red Dodge Power Wagon. The predator doesn't take the law so seriously, he's more of a pragmatic type. In contrast to his brother A.J. Simon, who lives in a house directly behind Rick's boat. He drives a Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, is rather conservative, sober and law-abiding. In his free time, he likes to read books. In sunny California, the two have opened a detective agency and have to keep their heads above water every day with the lousiest jobs in the industry - which, much to the delight of the viewers, usually turn out to be adventurous and breakneck.
