In 1945, shortly before the end of the Second World War, in a small German town. The American troops are advancing further and further. In this hopeless situation, even minors are recruited and thrown to the front. Most of them are poorly educated and so green behind the ears that they pose a danger to themselves and others. Seven students, some of whom are trapped in naïve patriotism or gripped by a thirst for adventure, are therefore supposed to secure a useless bridge against the enemy.
