Claus comes from a working-class background in Berlin. Fresh out of juvenile detention – he served time for petty theft – he meets Hertha. She impresses Claus with her self-confidence, and he also thinks she's a "classy woman." Claus finds a place to stay with Hertha, who is recently divorced and a bit older than him. At first, everything goes well. Hertha, a committed nudist, even takes him on a naturist holiday. But one day, she tells the bewildered Claus that she plans to open a bookstore with her friend – and move in with her. Claus's world collapses...
