The Lone Eagle - Charles Bronson - Western Classic DVD New
The year is 1871: Former Indian hunter Johnny McKay (Alan Ladd) is tasked by the government with leading peace negotiations with the Modoc tribe in Oregon. A faction of the tribe, led by the rebellious Kintpuash, also known as Captain Jack (Charles Bronson), has escaped the reservation and is claiming the settlers' territory for themselves. McKay and Kintpuash are old rivals who, while respecting each other, otherwise fight on opposing sides. Kintpuash is determined to prevent submitting to the white men once again. And so, a battle ensues. "The Lone Eagle" was released in 1954 under the title "Drum Beat" and was directed by Delmer Daves. Daves achieved fame as the director of the successful film "Broken Arrow," which went down in history as one of the first pro-Native American Westerns in Hollywood. The "Lexikon des internationalen Films" (Encyclopedia of International Film) judged it: "An exceptionally well-directed Western!" The German DVD release is presented as an uncut theatrical version in magnificent Technicolor. Language: German (Dolby Digital 2.0), English (Dolby Digital 2.0) FSK: Approved for ages 12 and up Playing time: 103 minutes Due to the very old film material, the quality may not be what you would expect from a DVD.
