Kyon is an ordinary high school student who doesn't really believe in the supernatural. He's all the more surprised when his pretty classmate Haruhi announces to the whole class that she has no interest in 'normal people,' but only in time travelers, aliens, and similar oddities. Intrigued, Kyon befriends Haruhi and soon finds himself a member of her club, the SOS Brigade, dedicated to investigating supernatural phenomena.
