When violinist Simon Daoud takes up his new position as a music teacher in the Parisian suburbs, he's in for anything but a dream job: the students from diverse backgrounds whom he's supposed to teach the violin to are, in his eyes, nothing more than an unruly horde of ruffians with absolutely no feel for classical music. Only when the reserved but talented Arnold appears does Simon begin to feel hopeful again. Through him, Simon learns to move away from his strict, traditional teaching methods, to tolerate the occasional off-key note, and thus find a way into his students' hearts. Together they work towards their ultimate goal: a performance in the concert hall of the Philharmonie de Paris!
