During a research trip to Peru, archaeologist Simon Waterman discovers a small, strange creature. Convinced he's found a new species, he takes it back to the US to market his find. Unfortunately, the cute little animal dies, and several new creatures—the "Munchies"—emerge from its carcass. These are anything but cute; instead, they are voracious beasts with an appetite for human flesh!
