Vittorio Manales, an influential Mafia boss, moves back to Sicily with his family. His plans, however, involve not only himself but also Roger Sartet, who is on death row. Sartet, a ruthless killer, was imprisoned fourteen months earlier by the feared Commissioner Le Goff. Together with his two sons, Vittorio manages to free Sartet from prison. Their escape ends in Sicily, where they find refuge with Vittorio's respectable family.
