When the periscope of a submarine drills into his small boat, Mücke (Bud Spencer) has to give up his job as a fisherman. Condemned to do nothing, he dawdles away his time in the pubs. Only the brawls of the locals against a horde of stationed American GIs provide some variety... But the constant brawls in the village get out of hand, so the Italian boys suggest a "friendly" football game to the GIs. Mücke becomes their trainer and fights against the soldiers' lousy tricks at first reluctantly, but then with a lot of commitment. The big match develops into a real battle, in which Mücke's team unfortunately performs poorly - until he himself intervenes in the action.
