Billy Clyde Puckett and Shake Tiller are two professional football players on an NFL team. They are best friends and share not only the playing field, but also their lives - including friendship with team daughter Barbara Jane Bookman. When Shake and Barbara Jane get engaged, a humorous, chaotic love triangle begins, which is further fueled by absurd self-discovery seminars, esoteric gurus and the American lifestyle of the 70s. As the big football finale approaches, the three have to figure out what is really important to them in life.
