While hunting cougars, tracker Cory Lambert discovers the body of a young woman in the rugged wilderness of the frozen Wind River Indian Reservation. He is immediately reminded of his own daughter, who died under similar circumstances three years earlier. The FBI sends Jane Banner, a young and inexperienced agent from Florida, to the scene to investigate. Unfamiliar with the harsh weather and the reservation's rules, she hires Lambert as her guide to assist her. As Jane and Cory get closer to solving the case, they realize they are up against an adversary who will stop at nothing to save his own skin...
