Product description

Australian rockers Airbourne have never been one to think small. But on their self-titled sixth studio album, they have outdone themselves. Airbourne, a name that has eventually become synonymous with bombastic, beer-drenched, dangerous and sexy rock 'n' roll. "This record distills everything we stand for into a single album," Ryan explains the title. "It's the best album we've ever made." The reunion with the powerhouse production team of Brian Howes (who wrote the 2013 album "Black Dog Barking") and sound engineer Mike Fraser (who worked on 2016's "Breakin' Outta Hell" and "No Guts. No Glory" from 2010), the band has teamed up at Music Farm Studio in the "jungle" outside Byron Bay. The complex features the original Neve console from Alberts Studios, on which bands such as AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels recorded their groundbreaking early albums. All of this is presented in a package carefully mixed by Zakk Cervini (BMTH, Architects) that captures the passion, fire and sweat-soaked danger of a band at the peak of their powers, complete with drums that sound like cannons and guitars that cut like bussaws. »Alive After Death« and »Send Me To Rock'N'Roll Heaven« pay homage to the band's fallen idols, with the latter referencing Lemmy, Doc Neeson of The Angels, John Bonham, Bon Scott, Little Richard and others. Joel wrote the lyrics to »Alive After Death« in one night on the tour bus and reflects on how the music of these legends makes them immortal. Elsewhere there are stories from the streets (»Bogota«), songs about defiance and never giving up (»Last Man Standing«, »Hell's Got No Vacancy«, »Gutsy«) and more sex (»Sky High«). Now all Airbourne have to do is return to the stage, safe in the knowledge that they bring the best album they've ever made. LP 2026 New
