Lyricist Pekka Kainulainen comments: "Over the years I have created many drawings and pictures of the moon and now I have written the appropriate heavy metal lyrics to go with them... This is a love song."

Guitarist Esa Holopainen adds: "The song is full of atmosphere and is also extremely catchy. It simply reflects well what AMORPHIS stands for in 2021."

"Halo" was recorded, produced, and mixed by Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios) before Tony Lindgren gave the album its final mastering touches. Furthermore, none other than Valnoir (Alcest, Paradise Lost, among others) was once again commissioned to create the artwork.
