Angel Witch is a pioneering British heavy metal band formed in London in 1976. Together with bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon and Diamond Head, Angel Witch are an important part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). They are considered a major influence on metal in the early 1980s, including bands such as Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. The band line-up at the time consisted of Kevin Heybourne, Kevin Riddles and Dave Hogg. Angel Witch's self-titled debut album from 1980 is considered a groundbreaking, influential work, and to this day, metalheads all over the world sing along to the title song »Angel Witch« whenever it is played. The cover of the album shows an image of a well-known painting: »The Fallen Angels Entering Pandemonium« by John Martin. »Angel Witch« is available in a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on silver vinyl.
