With »wos«, Attwenger present their tenth studio album - a work that once again proves why this band has been sweeping through the German-speaking music landscape like a natural phenomenon for almost four decades. What began in 1991 with a cassette, a VHS tape and the legendary sentence "Attwenger means to think in dialect, means to dip the skull into the must" has developed into one of the most independent projects in the country: slangpunk, dialect avant-garde and anarchic groove that accepts no pigeonhole. On »wos«, electrically charged accordion lines meet driving drum and sequencer beats. Words fray, stories swirl around, language is bent, stretched, dismantled - and reassembled into a sound that is at once deeply rooted and radically contemporary. Attwenger comment on the state of an overheated society without raising a moral finger. Instead, they open up spaces between the lines: places for humour, escapes, resistance and liberating movements beyond expectation. "What's it. is wos." - this album leaves no one cold. It challenges, grooves, mills, questions, contradicts. And it shows once again: Attwenger remain uncopyable.
