Betterov's second studio album, "Große Kunst" (Great Art), documents his protagonist's struggle with internalized feelings of home—and a bittersweet homecoming. At the same time, it tells of what came before—of serpentine biographies, of escape, of barbed wire, of binoculars, of a self-proclaimed peace state that rose from ruins and left ruins in its wake. Instead of singing about great art, Betterov sings of its absence—and of the deep divide between the proletariat and the cultural class. It's all heavy stuff; but simply the foundation of Betterov's artistic persona, which sounds and sings the way it does only because of his described life story—his provincial youth in post-GDR Germany, the wealth of experience of his parents.

With "Große Kunst" (Great Art), Betterov has created a masterpiece; and taken a giant leap out of his comfort zone. Betterov remains a distinctive indie artist who, despite his raw edge, seems to shimmer with a festive glow, contrasting cool dark wave elements with grand, ceremonial melodic arcs and captivating with a bittersweet dynamism. In 2022, Betterov released the universally acclaimed Top 5 album "OLYMPIA," and the follow-up, "OLYMPIA (Ehrenrunde Deluxe)" (Olympia (Ehrenrunde Deluxe)), released in October 2023, featuring new tracks and guest appearances from Paula Hartmann, Blumengarten, and Provinz, has brought Betterov recognition far beyond the German indie scene. Once again, Betterov recorded the new songs in collaboration with producer Tim Tautorat – who, after all, has been a key influence on his sound from the very beginning.
