"Olympia" was written during the pandemic and describes difficult times. Surrounded by fog and feelings that are, in reality, snapshots of an almost all-consuming heaviness. You lie around, lose yourself in old sports videos, and let the hours slip by, paralyzed. While people on the screen swim 100 meters in 47 seconds, thereby changing their entire lives and the world, you yourself can't accomplish anything anymore. Total standstill. The image stutters. Between apathy, slow-motion sadness, and speed records, the urge arises to transform something so destructive into something constructive. A goal that Betterov has achieved on his debut album. "Olympia" searches for reasons and offers hope. It's about love, lost love, the desire to be someone else, to find oneself. The longing to be part of a group. Only to realize in the end that one's own nonconformity is actually one's greatest strength.
