Frontman Simon Neil explains: »›Futique‹ is a journey through thoughts, things and relationships that exist over time – we never know when we will do something for the last time. And that's exactly where there is a certain beauty, but also a sadness. What will be your Futique?" The title is based on Simon's reflections on how our culture of remembrance has changed in the digital age. In the past, people carefully pasted their favourite photos into the album, but today they can be accessed as an endless stream of images on the smartphone in seconds. This reflection brought back memories of people of his youth, of things he misses today – but even more exciting was the question: What will I miss in the future that is important to me today? A thought that occupied him especially during the 2023 tour with his experimental metal project Empire State Bastard.
