"The story doesn't take place in a specific time, but is about an artist who struggles with life," begins founding member Gregory Spawton. He goes for a walk, finds a piece of heartwood, and creates something that he finds beautiful and unique. Maybe it's a dream, or maybe it's reality, but he suddenly finds himself in this Narnia-like woodcut world."

»Woodcut« is a joint work of the band, in which all seven members make impressive contributions. Frontman Alberto Bravin took over the production: "This time it's a kind of new beginning for the band. 'Woodcut' is a big step forward for us," he comments. The album is adorned with a striking cover design by Dorset-based artist Robin Mackenzie – a black-and-white woodblock print, which of course comes from a woodcut that the band commissioned from him especially for the album.

The album is available as a limited CD + Blu-ray edition with extensive liner notes as well as Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound mixes by Shawn Dealey of Sweetwater Studios. It is also released as a noble gatefold double LP (180g) with embossed cover, as a standard CD in a jewel case and digitally in stereo and Dolby Atmos.
