The darkwave electronic duo Boy Harsher from Northampton, Massachusetts, is launching their own label, Nude Club! Nude Club will be re-releasing their two cult albums, "Lesser Man (Extended Version)" and "Yr Body Is Nothing," for the first time; these albums were previously only available as imports. Boy Harsher are a counterpoint to mainstream electropop and have cultivated a loyal underground following over the years. They recently completed a triumphant, completely sold-out tour of Europe, and what some people mistake for chemtrails in the sky are actually their fog and dry ice remnants. Their blend of dark dance beats, 80s influences, and extremely backmixed, highly ethereal vocals creates an eerie, intense, and captivating soundscape. Augustus Muller builds the foundation of his tracks from precise and powerful beats that somehow sound like something from back then, yet are entirely contemporary, and then grinds them down with sawing synths, while Jae Matthews whispers, screams, and sings as if there truly were no tomorrow. These cathartic yet magnetic tracks quickly became hits for a real underground scene. Far removed from playlists and PR hype, what would have been called a cult following in the past began to take shape. Today, it represents the beginnings of resistance against the algorithmization of music. Or at least, we believe we can hope so. "Yr Body Is Nothing" was originally released on vinyl by DKA Records, pressed in a limited edition of three pressings. All pressings sold out within a few weeks. With a strong focus on rhythm and atmosphere, the 10 songs presented here showcase a songwriting and production style that is sophisticated and unique, dark yet powerfully sublime. Paradoxically, the sound is massive yet minimal, providing the perfect space for Jae Matthews' rich, deep, and emotional vocals, with which she and Gus Muller captivate the listener with each and every song.
