Past and Present: Bryan Ferry returns in 2018 with a new album. "Bitter-Sweet" is the 16th solo album from the British singer-songwriter and founding member of Roxy Music, the follow-up to 2014's "Avonmore." Like his 2012 album "The Jazz Age," "Bitter-Sweet" was created with the Bryan Ferry Orchestra. It was also heavily inspired by Ferry's work on the soundtrack for the German historical crime series "Babylon Berlin," set in the 1920s. Therefore, musical styles from this era, including ragtime, blues, and jazz, can be found on "Bitter-Sweet." In addition to Ferry's solo songs, the album also features interpretations of well-known Roxy Music classics, such as "While My Heart Is Still Beating," "Sign of the Times," "Bitter Sweet," "Limbo," and "Dance Away." Unlike "The Jazz Age," "Bitter-Sweet" features eight vocal tracks alongside its instrumental pieces. It's a jazz album with cover songs from the artist's own catalog, blending modern and traditional styles. Rarely has this been achieved as successfully as on Bryan Ferry's "Bitter-Sweet."
