»Black Butterfly« was co-produced by Marti Frederiksen [Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe] and Keith Nelson of Buckcherry and has further the band's development into a band destined for the biggest stages. It also spawned some of the band's most popular singles, "Don't Go Away" and "Rescue Me," as well as a riotous cover of Deep Purple's "Highway Star."

With the new edition, the coveted bonus track »Too Drunk...« for the first time on vinyl, while the CD edition also includes five bonus tracks, including two rare demos and three re-recorded acoustic versions of »Don't Go Away«, »Rescue Me« and »Rose«.

Upon its release, »Black Butterfly« took Buckcherry to astonishing commercial heights. It cracked the top 10 of the U.S. and Canadian album charts and was later certified gold by Music Canada. Now that it is being pressed on vinyl for the first time outside the USA, »Black Butterfly« has another chance to unfold its wings.

The re-release follows Buckcherry's new album »Roar Like Thunder«, which was released in June 2025.
