The two singing stars from Bahia had started their recording career in 1965 with the release of a few separate singles. Two years later, they got the chance to record their first album »Domingo« together for Philips. Although the bossa nova influence can be felt in the sound and performances of Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso - both were fans of João Gilberto - the album's repertoire came from composers of a new generation. The album, which launched the careers of two of MPB's biggest stars, is now being reissued on black vinyl.
