Danger Dan's new solo album, "Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit gedeckt" (This is all covered by artistic freedom), isn't a rap record, but a piano album with vocals. It consists of eleven tracks, encompassing everything from unpretentious love songs to militant antifascist verse. Here and there, the piano playing is subtly enhanced with strings or accordion. The lyrics of the album, with which Danger Dan fulfills a long-held dream, are both personal and political, because one cannot exist without the other. In this way, the Randy Newman of rap intertwines his biography with the drama and absurdity of human existence.
