Daniel Avery - Tremor CD Neu
Tremor arrives at a time when Avery's workload seems colossal to outsiders. As a producer, DJ, musician, and remixer who constantly collaborates with others, he recently reinterpreted The Cure's "Drone:Nodrone," for which he received widespread acclaim. His work as one of three members of Demise of Love (a group co-founded with Ghost Culture and Working Men's Club) currently provides the soundtrack for the blurred, opaque edges of dance floors worldwide. The album marks Avery's first release on Domino. The record is packed with unexpected collaborations, including Yeule, Art School Girlfriend, Ryan of bdrmm, Yune Pinku, Cécile Believe, Walter Schreifels of Rival Schools, Julie of New Dad, and Alison Mosshart. "Tremor" was mixed partly by David Wrench and partly by the legendary Alan Moulder. It's a widescreen album where Daniel relies more than ever on instrumentation, complementing these sounds with his signature dark, techno-like production. There are beautiful melodic parts, big electronic hits, harder grunge sections, and gorgeous ambient moments that allow you to find peace.
