In February 2026, Daphni (aka Caribou, aka Dan Snaith) will release the new album Butterfly. As Caribou, he released the seminal album Swim, which won the Juno Award in the Electronic Album of the Year category. As Daphni, he shone with Jialong, Joli Mai and Cherry on his own label Jialong. Daphni's fourth studio album Butterfly initially ties in seamlessly with his last album Cherry from 2022. The fusion of genre boundaries leads to a collaboration on Butterfly's lead single Waiting So Long (feat. Caribou). An unusual duo – because both artists are one and the same person, Dan Snaith. Less an expression of an identity crisis, but simply a track where Snaith felt for the first time that he belonged to both pseudonyms and could appeal to fans of both. He has never sung on a Daphni track before and didn't intend to do so this time either – and yet this unusual collaboration came about.
