It was spontaneously recorded over three nights in Osaka and Tokyo in August 1972. The so-called Mark II lineup of Deep Purple delivered incredible, high-energy performances of groundbreaking songs such as "Smoke On The Water," "Highway Star," "Child In Time," and "Space Truckin'." Seven tracks were originally selected for the double album. To celebrate the (belated) 50th anniversary of "Made In Japan," Steven Wilson has sat down to create a brand-new stereo remix of the original album.
