Since their debut album, "Carnaval Odyssey" (2019), the quartet of Gwendoline "Olivya" Victorin (vocals) and David Kiledjian (vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar, saxophone, flute, percussion) has refined their global grooves with great dedication and visionary elegance, creating a "Creole Afrofuturism." German media outlets such as Deutschlandfunk, WDR Cosmo, Jazzthing, and Stereoplay have also extensively praised their albums to date. With "Tchenbé!", they further refine their trademark sound, a blend of Caribbean rhythms, jazz, electronic music, and percussive soul, featuring lyrics in Creole, French, and English. For the first time, they forgo traditional beatmaking, instead utilizing live-recorded, analog beats. This results in an exceptionally warm and organic sound. "Tchenbé!" is an expression from Caribbean Creole and means something like "Hold on!", the new songs are more introspective, dealing with personal challenges that all people face at different points in their lives - universal, danceable and yet very idiosyncratic music that couldn't be more beautiful!
