Product description

The punk band from Mönchengladbach, founded in 1979, initially called itself Panzerfaust, before changing its name to EA80 in 1980. The new album »Stecker« comes with 13 songs on CD and LP for the band's 46th anniversary in 2025. Depending on how you count it (was »Single« a real album? Does the 2004 re-recording of »Vorsicht Schreie« count as a »new« album?) »··« is the twelfth or 14th studio album of the veteran quartet around guitarist and singer Junge. With the 13 new songs, the quartet, which has recently become very active live again, shows its strongest side: with their completely unmistakable style, recognizable from the first bar, EA80 manage to release a very varied work with surprising twists and turns after more than 40 years, from which you can gain new wonderful details with every listen. From the swinging opener »Vergoldet« with its atonally squeaky lead guitar staccato to lightning-fast, rugged 80 HC punk songs to the elegiac six-and-a-half-minute »Scherbe« with an expansive vocal melody, it goes over the beloved highly melodic mid-tempo punk rock sliders to reminiscences of the indie and noise rock of the 90s. EA80 are unsurpassed in their minimalism and the unmistakably dark mood, but on this album you can almost hear the band's joy in surprising themselves again and again.
