For »III Sides To Every Story«, Extreme have reflected on their influences and roots and produced a three-part concept album. As one of the most talented rock bands of the late 20th century, Extreme have created some of the most versatile rock albums of this era. Their guitar-driven hard rock with elements of funk, metal, lounge vocals, prog elements and even some rap on »Cupid's Dead« was anything but ordinary or predictable. The guitar wizardry of Nuno Bettencourt and the vocal dynamics of Gary Cherone formed a perfect team with the rhythm section of Pat Badger on bass and Paul Geary on drums. Extreme is an American rock band with frontmen Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt, who reached the peak of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. "III Sides To Every Story" was released in September 1992 and the first single from the album was "Rest In Peace". As a concept album, the album is divided into three sections, which are called "pages" - an allusion to the notion of "different sides of a story" and the "sides" of a vinyl record. The sides, which are described as "three sides to every story" in the song "Cupid's Dead", are called "Yours", "Mine" and "The Truth" and each have their own musical style and lyrical imagery.
