Product description

More than once in recent months, one could have gotten the impression that the world had stood still. But it's still turning. For some, perhaps – seemingly – a little slower than expected, but for others at its usual pace. For Eisbrecher, however, the earth is currently spinning faster than ever before: In October 2020, their cover album "Schicksalsmelodien" was released and immediately landed at number 4 on the album charts. And while the last note of this remarkable album hasn't even completely faded away, their new regular, eighth studio album, "Liebe Macht Monster," is already on its way. With more than a dozen new Eisbrecher anthems, the upcoming album offers many fascinating, multifaceted, and incredibly powerfully produced songs, which singer Alex Wesselsky aptly describes as "an eternal Eisbrecher tackle between rock/metal and electro-industrial-pop." Three and a half years after their number 1 album Sturmfahrt (2017), Alex Wesselsky and guitarist, producer/programmer Noel Pix have fine-tuned every aspect of their distinctive sound, scrutinizing every last detail to present fans with a captivating and multifaceted work. And while many established acts have succumbed to lethargy due to the current challenging times, the two have unleashed a veritable avalanche of creativity. "The first important step was: Reset all," explains Noel Pix. "To avoid getting stuck in a production-wise rut, you sometimes have to throw out the tried and tested. So all the carefully collected sounds of the last few years ended up in the trash. It's simply best to write on a blank sheet of paper." Wesselsky adds: "For us, it's always been: Only what blows you away can truly blow others away! And so it just began... Bam!" The first steps: Cigarette on, brain on, heart on, computer on, phone on, door open, cigarette on, cigarette out, mic on... next song!« As a proud result of this brainstorming session, there are now a total of 14 new tracks that, on the one hand, showcase all of Eisbrecher's proven strengths, and on the other hand, document the band's entire stylistic range and great artistic potential. Liebe Macht Monster proves that Alex and Noel Pix have successfully refined their musical parameters and repositioned themselves without losing their unmistakable core direction. The range extends from typical powerful Eisbrecher tracks (»Nein Danke«, »Es lohnt sich nicht ein Mensch zu sein«) to exciting new influences (»Systemsprenger«, »Wer bin ich«, »Leiserdrehen«). Wesselsky: "Eisbrecher have never sounded as diverse as on their new album!" The band's characteristic boundary-pushing tracks are this time called "Kontrollverlust" (Loss of Control) and "Dagegen" (Against It), the latter featuring a spectacular collaboration with Oomph! frontman Dero. "Hooray, finally a duet! That can be crossed off our to-do list," Wesselsky rejoices. The first single from Liebe macht Monster (Love Makes Monsters) is provocatively titled "FAKK" and will be released on January 15, 2021, along with a compelling video. Also released before the album is "Im Guten Im Bösen" (For Good, For Evil), a second single and video will be released. Noel Pix: "The combination of electronic elements with hard guitars remains at the heart of Eisbrecher. What's new, however, is the way we blend everything together. We don't chase every trend, but we always like to be influenced by the zeitgeist to sound fresh and modern." Eisbrecher fully live up to this ambition with Liebe macht Monster!
