Product description

Jimmy Lindsay's biography is a typical example of the development of British reggae culture and reads similarly to those of numerous other British reggae singers of his generation. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1950, he spent the first nine years of his life there before his parents decided to move to England. Once there, it didn't take long for him to dedicate himself to music. Fueled by early successes in various funk, soul, and rock bands, and buoyed by the positive feedback on his soulful voice, he eventually ventured onto a solo path, returning to his Jamaican roots. A major chart success with the single "Easy," a reggae cover of the Commodores hit, followed immediately and was rewarded with the British Reggae Award in 1977.
