Product description

Colemine Records is pleased to present a special 10th anniversary edition of »Sound of Sinning«, Monophonics' groundbreaking studio album. Since its inception in April 2015, Monophonics has proudly carried the torch of San Francisco's rich musical history and culture through the generations to today's musical landscape. They hold on to traditions, but are by no means purists, but play their own style of music, known as "psychedelic soul". On their previous album »In Your Brain«, the band was influenced by acts such as the early Funkadelic, Sly and The Family Stone and the Temptations' records produced by Norman Whitfield. » "Sound of Sinning" marked the beginning of the band's growth in all areas. With influences from Northern Soul, Doo-Wop, Rock 'n' Roll, Psych Pop and film music, Monophonics show their versatility but remain true to their roots. All in all, it's heartfelt music with old-school vibes, without losing sight of the present. This music is characterized by the timeless feeling of when you could still write and produce songs that you could listen to over and over again. "Sound of Sinning" was produced by Kelly Finnigan & Ian McDonald and recorded on a vintage Tascam eight-track 1/4-inch tape recorder at Transistor Sound Studios in San Rafael, California. Since »Sound of Sinning«, the group has released the critically acclaimed album »It's Only Us« (2020) and the concept album »Sage Motel« (2023), which has sold over 10,000 copies.   Tracklisting Lying Eyes Sound Of Sinning La La La Love Me Promises Falling Apart Hanging On Strange Love Find My Way Back Home Holding Back Your Love Too Long Everyone's Got...
