"Very little is known about the Canadian women's duo No Joy. What is certain is that the artists can neither be pigeonholed and are still a harmless girls band. With their concentrated, almost aggressive sound, they stand out from the style of their (quite friendly) colleagues Best Coast, Puro Instincto or Vivian and Dum Dum Girls. Their music contains shoegazing elements, but in an atypically dark, even threatening form.
