»To Cherish« shows Northcote, the project of Canadian singer-songwriter Matt Goud, in a phase of personal and creative renewal. Known since 2008 for his warm voice, sincere lyrics and energetic live shows, Northcote has built a loyal international fan base through tours in North America and Europe, as well as joint performances with artists such as The Gaslight Anthem, Frank Turner and Hot Water Music. The album was created at Rain City Studios in Vancouver under the direction of producer Jesse Gander, who gives the songs a powerful, immediate clarity. To Cherish reflects a time of upheaval - the end of a long-term relationship, an important spiritual transition phase and the creative spirit of optimism after returning to the stage. Long-time partner Stephen McGillivray contributes significantly to the atmosphere with his characteristic guitar playing, supported by Paul Rigby, percussionist Mike Battle and bassist Eric Paone. The songs combine lyrical depth with emotional intensity and invite you to consciously appreciate the ups and downs of life.
