Overkill is an American thrash metal band from the New York City area, formed in 1980 by bassist DD Verni, drummer "Rat" Skates, and vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth. Overkill is also one of the few bands that contributed to the definition of thrash metal. "RELIXIV" was Overkill's fourteenth studio album and is among the best thrash metal has to offer. After the recording sessions, Tim Mallare announced his departure from the band, and Ron Lipnicki was appointed his replacement. On the album, which was first released in March 2005, Overkill remained true to their style. "RELIXIV" is a worthy successor to 2003's "Killbox 13."
