After 10 years, PETER GABRIEL releases his long-awaited new solo album UP. UP is his first studio album since the 1992 work US, which sold many millions of copies worldwide. PETER GABRIEL's solo career now spans over 25 years, UP is the 12th production in this context. "This record," PETER GABRIEL explains the intention of UP, "concentrates more on the beginning and end of life, less on its center. UP has become a very personal album, it reflects on life growing out of death, it also acknowledges patterns and powers that exist beyond our usual perception.« On UP, there is an extraordinary list of musicians who have contributed. But above all, PETER's main focus was on drums and percussion. In this squad we find Manu Katche, Ged Lynch, Dominic Greensmith and Will White, all on the drums, in the ranks of the percussionists Mahut Dominique and Hossam Ramzy have nested. The faces of David Rhodes (guitar) and Tony Levin (bass), who are already familiar in the GABRIEL environment, can be made out throughout the album, as well as Danny Thompson on upright bass. In addition, we hear an immense range of singers, such as the wonderful and unfortunately now deceased Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the gospel troupe Blind Boys Of Alabama and PETER's own daughter, Melanie. The song Sky Blue is probably the track that was created in the past. On it you can hear Daniel Lanois with a very atmospheric guitar and - with Peter Green - one of PETER GABRIEL's idols from his youth.
