Estonian metal band Pridian will release their debut album, "Venetian Dark," via Century Media Records. Their modern, energetic, and atmospheric metalcore with a futuristic edge is reminiscent of genre giants like Northlane, Spiritbox, and Architects. Pridian's songwriting focuses on cinematic storytelling and a strong narrative concept in their lyrics, music, and visuals. "We want to write songs, not just instrument-based music." We could write technical stuff because we're all proficient on our instruments, but good songs, interesting structures, and good stories are more important. The album title, "Venetian Dark," was inspired by a color that stuck in Jörg's mind and slowly evolved into its final form, reflecting the album's overall themes. The album was entirely written and produced by Pridian, who poured a lot of individual and collaborative work into developing the tracks. Tracks like "Out For Blood," "DINY," and "Void Resonance" combine chaotic, high-energy riffs with EDM-like synths, crashing breakdowns, and atmospheric elements. Pridian draws from 2010s metalcore, djent, and Deftones-inspired post-hardcore, even revealing a Korn-esque nu-metal edge, especially on the heavy but catchy "Darker Tides." The interlude "Synthetic Salvation" underscores the band's bold approach, as Laur explains: "Some tracks are more production than song... it's not metal, but I don't care.
