With archival footage recorded between 1985 and 1994, Prince reluctantly delivered "The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale" to Warner Bros. in 1996 to fulfill his contract with them. The label finally released it in 1999, three years after releasing its last real Prince album (Chaos And Disorder), but the promotion was minimal. Of course, The Purple One was already miles away creatively at this point. The jazzy, restrained and consistently fascinating album contained the single »Extraordinary«.
