After it had become a bit quieter around Propagandhi in recent years, the Canadian hardcore / punk band is back brilliantly with their seventh album »Victory Lap«. Its sound seamlessly follows on from the last two releases »Supporting Caste« (2009) and »Failed State« (2012), on which the quartet musically distanced itself from punk rock and instead adapted influences from thrash metal and prog rock. But what hasn't changed is the political stance of the band members. In view of the election of Donald Trump as US president, it is clear that the Canadians have no less anger in their stomachs than on their previous albums. On the contrary! According to reports, »The Donald« was the reason for band leader Chris Hannah to call his fellow musicians into the studio to record new material. There are twelve songs, and guitarist Sulynn Hago, who was recruited in 2015, participated in these for the first time as a full-fledged propagandist. Originally, she was only supposed to replace David Guillas on tour, but apparently he took a longer break. However, he is still officially part of the band and also co-wrote the album.
